A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car Sunday evening while attempting to cross Route 45 in Lindenhurst, authorities said. A 38-year-old Waukegan man was driving a 2015 Nissan Rogue south on Route 45 when he hit the female victim about 5:25 p.m. just south of Sand Lake Road, according to a news release from Lindenhurst police.
