After lukewarm ticket sales for the first ever Mother/Son date night in Taylor, which was set for May 12, the event was cancelled. While the city was hoping to sell at least 50 to 100 tickets for the inaugural event, only 17 tickets were sold as of May 9, forcing the cancellation.

Women's group awards scholarships to Downriver students

The local affiliate of the American Association of University Women celebrated numerous significant contributions and accomplishments of local women and girls of all ages on March 13 at the Wayne County Community College campus in Taylor. Wyandotte police pull over erratic driver; alcohol, marijuana and cocaine found inside car

Based on the alcohol and drugs found inside a vehicle Wyandotte police pulled over due to erratic driving, the couple inside the car appeared to be carrying on an illegal mobile party. The traffic stop occurred at 10 p.m. April 22 when officers spotted a 2005 Nissan Altima on southbound Fort Street, near Grove Street, making multiple lane changes and driving erratically.
