Suspected drunk driver charged in fatal crash

A 21-year-old Troy man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal crash in Rochester Hills on June 10. Police say around 12:19 a.m., Alexander Munch was driving eastbound on South Boulevard when the car drove left of center and through a ditch, striking a utility pole. The front seat passenger, Talon Dawson, was killed in the crash.

The district received notification from an Arizona State University laboratory manager and research professor May 21 that a water sample from a Van Hoosen Middle School science room faucet - which comes from a source that feeds both the Van Hoosen and the Adams High School water supplies - tested positive for mercury at levels of 0.056 mg/L or 56 parts per billion, significantly higher than the 0.002 mg/L or 2 ppb maximum contaminant level published by Environmental Protection Agency.
