Cleanup of massive central Illinois rock slide begins

Excavation equipment rumbled last week along Kickapoo Creek Road to start removing boulders, earth and trees that have been blocking traffic between Harmon Highway and Bartonville. A 16-year-old girl submitted to sex with an East Peoria man to avoid "living out of the car again," charges allege. Robert Rogers, 59, told the girl he would kick her and her mother out of his house, where they had been living since last October, if she didn't comply with his demands, according to the 10 charges filed against him on May 22. They include three of criminal sexual assault as a person of supervision over the victim, four of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, two of indecent solicitation of a child and one of promoting juvenile prostitution.
