About: peabody, massachusetts

On October 28, 1915, 21 young girls lost their lives in a tragic fire at the St. John's School on Chestnut Street in the downtown Peabody area. The 21 girls who were trapped were found after the fire subsided, huddled together and burnt beyond recognition, on the other side of the entrance - just steps away from survival. Judge Timothy Q. Feeley - who came under fire last month for lowering the bail of a man who weeks later was charged with killing a cop in Maine - said probation for drug dealer Manuel Soto-Vittini was warranted because the admitted drug dealer was trying to be a good provider.
