The first people to settle in what is now Mount Prospect, Illinois were primarily from New England. However, in the early 1840s, the majority of these settlers left for various reasons such as moving west for gold or religious reasons, or moving back east. In 1848 a large wave of German immigrants came to America and moved out west. Mount Prospect was primarily settled by Lutheran Germans whose hopes were to establish a community. They were successful in their goal, producing a German speaking, farming community.

Boston to sue opioid manufacturers

Mayor Walsh said today he's picked a South Carolina-based lawfirm to file suit against the makers of opioids to try to recover some of the costs he says the city has incurred treating and dealing with users of their products.
