Lebanon held its annual Christmas tree lighting on the historic square Monday night, where crowds gathered to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season. Choirs from Sam Houston Elementary School, Byars Dowdy Elementary School, Castle Heights Elementary School and Coles Ferry Elementary School performed holiday songs prior to the lighting.

A locally based builder is eyeing a 1,200-home development in Lebanon. The Tennessean reports that Goodall Homes is seeking rezoning for nearly 400 acres near Cairo Bend Road and State Route 109.

The Wilson County 911 Board approved the technology needed Tuesday as part of the incoming co-location enhancements and addressed ongoing structural maintenance. The board accepted the new technology, Nelson Systems Eventide, recording software with server hardware and a backup solution, which was picked after several bids were compared for features and price.

Lebanon, Wilson County detectives honored for drug casework

The Tennessee Narcotics Officers Association honored a Lebanon police detective and a Wilson County sheriff's detective each with impact awards recently for their work on a large methamphetamine and heroin case in Wilson County. In August 2017, Lebanon police and Wilson County sheriff's detectives began an investigation into a meth organization in Wilson County.

The Lebanon Special School District Board of Education held its monthly board meeting Monday where it approved the contract renewal for Director of Schools Scott Benson, the adoption of next two school calendars and several items regarding bonds and financing to build a new elementary school. The board approved a resolution that declared the district will reimburse itself for certain expenditures relating to school improvement projects with proceeds of bonds issued by the district.

Lebanon police charge two armed robbery suspects, one remains at large

Lebanon police detectives charged two suspects Sunday they believe robbed convenience stores at gunpoint Thursday and Saturday, but a third suspect remained on the run. Davarise Antonio Woodmore, 19, and Marcus Keyshawn Jennings, 18, both of Lebanon, were charged with two counts of aggravated robbery in connection to robberies that that happened Thursday at E&M Market at 725 E. Main St. and Saturday at Discount Tobacco at 735 N. Cumberland St. Police said the suspects pulled a gun during both robberies, and detectives described them as "extremely dangerous."
