Kokomo is located in central Indiana. It was named in honor of a chief Miami Indian, who was thought to be a local legend named "Koh-Koh-Mah" or "Kokomoko" which translates to Black Walnut. Kokomo man dies in crash with semi

KOKOMO, Ind. - A Kokomo man was killed Sunday night when his SUV struck a semi on State Road 26. According to the Howard County Sheriff's Office, Adam Betzner, 27, was driving west in the 5800 block West of State Road 26 shortly after 10:30 p.m. when his 2000 GMC Yukon collided with an eastbound Freightliner tractor trailer.
