Independence Avenue is the 31st most deadly street for car crashes and fatalities in Kansas and Missouri, according to a recent study by Wendt Law Firm P.C. The avenue had three crashes and three fatalities per mile, putting it at a 0.84 crash rate for the 3.56 mile stretch from the Paseo to Ewing, where it curves into E. Winner Road. Out of the 40 most dangerous highways and roads, Missouri had 39 of the 45 segments in the study, while Jackson County was home to five.

Collaborating with Harvard University, Mastercard has announced the launch of a global network of cities called City Possible to help them identify common problems, come up with possible solutions, and then test and implement them. Nov. 12--One of Kansas City's two dockless scooter companies has decommissioned some of its scooters because of reports they can break while in use. Lime acknowledged the recall Monday morning but did not say how many scooters were affected in Kansas City and globally.

EEOC Sues Kansas City Wedding Venue for Retaliation Against Black Employee

According to the EEOC's lawsuit, Doug Lytle, owner of 28 Event Space, retaliated against Theopilis Bryant, who is African-American, after Bryant was a witness in an earlier race discrimination case against Profile Cabinet and Design, a Kansas City custom cabinet builder where Lytle was a manager.
