The county seat for Marion County, West Virginia, is Fairmont, which is also nicknamed, "The Friendly City." Once known as "Middletown," the name "Fairmont" eventually took over, after being a contraction of "Fair Mountain." Most famously, the city is known as the first place to publically observe the very first Father's Day, on July 5, 1908. The four are considered persons of interest in the shooting death of Timothy Pahl, a 67-year-old Morgantown man found shot to death Tuesday on Old Stewartstown Road.
