Man Dies After Being Struck by Pickup Truck

November 14 - A 48-year-old Decatur man died Wednesday after he was struck by a pickup truck near the intersection of East Eldorado and North 24th Street. According to the Decatur Police Department, officers responded to the area shortly before noon and discovered that the full-size pickup driven by a 55-year-old Decatur man struck a pedestrian standing near the intersection.

Police say 12-year-old killed by man playing with handgun

Police say a 20-year-old man claims he was playing with a handgun when it accidently fired and fatally wounded a 12-year-old boy in central Illinois. Decatur police say the man told investigators he was with Marqueius Gray and relatives of the boy inside a home when he found the gun lying on a couch before Monday evening's shooting.

November 13 - Renowned Italian trombonist Peter Steiner will perform in two different Decatur shows this week, at Millikin University on Thursday and at Central Christian Church on Sunday. Steiner will join Millikin's Symphonic Wind Ensemble as it continues its concert season Thursday with a performance of "Colors for Trombone and Wind Ensemble" beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Kirkland Fine Arts Center.
