Transient arrested for cutting Comcast cables, police asking for witnesses

On June 14, Campbell Police Department arrested Richard Bridge, 56, of no fixed address, on suspicion of vandalism of Comcast cables that caused over $10,000 in damage. According to police, on April 28 and May 22, two separate incidents of vandalism took place along the railroad tracks at Pollard Road and Hwy 85 in Campbell.

City planners consider barring tutoring centers from commercial areas

At its May 22 Planning Commission meeting, commissioners voted unanimously to initiate a zoning code text amendment to establish large and small tutoring centers as a conditional use in the professional office zoning district, and to prohibit tutoring centers in the C-2, or general commercial zoning district. Associate Planner Stephen Rose, who brought the issue to the commission, said that Campbell hasn't reviewed the definitions, parking standards or land-use designations for tutoring centers since the council adopted the ordinance in 2011.
