Female Victim Escapes Kidnapping & Attempted Assault In Brooklyn Park

MINNEAPOLIS - Police in Brooklyn Park say a female victim escaped an attempted sexual assault after she was kidnapped from a grocery store parking lot earlier this month. On May 12, Brooklyn Park police officers were dispatched to the report of an attempted kidnapping that occurred at 8:10 p.m. in the parking lot of an ALDI grocery store at 7600 Brooklyn Boulevard.

Police in Brooklyn Park are searching for a man they say kidnapped a woman from the parking lot of an Aldi grocery store on May 12 and attempted to sexually assault her. A release said officers were dispatched around 8:10 p.m. on May 12 to Aldi located at 7600 Brooklyn Blvd. A male suspect allegedly threatened the woman with a knife and forced her to drive to another location.

Authorities say 21-year-old Deshawn Wilson sent threatening messages to people at the home on June 4, 2017, then later that day went to the residence and with another man began firing.

Chaska's KleinBank has reversed course and settled a federal discrimination lawsuit, after insisting that the U.S. Department of Justice could not force it to open a branch in Hennepin County. Under the terms of an agreement announced Tuesday, the family-owned company must open a full-service brick-and-mortar office in Hennepin County by May 2019, plus set aside $300,000 in below-market loans to expand its presence in minority neighborhoods.
