A craft beer retail store and tasting cafe is proposed to open next spring in downtown Arlington Heights as the second location of a small business that launched two years ago in Park Ridge. Beer on the Wall, which offers a dozen rotating drafts and some 600 bottles and cans for on-site consumption or take-away at 106 Main St. in Park Ridge, plans to lease space for another location at 2 N. Dunton Ave. in Arlington Heights.

Driver who crashed into new Arlington Heights police station faces numerous charges

An Arlington Heights man who, police said, was speeding at 104 mph when he crashed recently into the village's new police station has been charged. Sam O. Kerlin, 44, of the 0-99 block of South Vail Avenue, was charged Nov. 16 with driving under the influence of drugs, speeding 35 mph or more over the speed limit, reckless driving and improper lane use, Arlington Heights police said in a statement.

The northwest suburb just spent almost $30 million on a police station and authorities say, around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, a man from Georgia was speeding on Sigwalt Street when he lost control, the car flipped over and then came to rest near the station entrance.
