Esteban Nieves 22, of Arch Street New Haven, was charged with first-degree assault, third-degree assault, risk of injury to a minor and violation of probabtion. Nieves's arrest on March 8, 2017 follows an investigation of a physical abuse case than began on Feb. 25 "That evening paramedics arrived at 370 Highland Street and transported a 3-year old child to an emergency room hospital suffering from serious injuries," West Haven police said in a statement.
