Fresh-cut fruit and vegetable company F&S Produce, Rosenhayn, N.J., is expanding its fresh and processed capabilities with the purchase of a General Mills Progresso Soup plant in Vineland, N.J. F&S supplies retail, foodservice and industrial processing companies with fresh-cut, frozen and pureed/cooked fruits and vegetables. The bulk of its business is retail products, including fruit and vegetable trays and bowls, ready-to-prepare meal sides and kits, and deli salads, according to a news release.

Atlantic County prosecutors say the 40-year-old Vineland resident was under the influence of Xanax when his pickup crossed the center line, striking a box truck and then hitting a car containing five Mainland Regional High School students who were going to compete in a charity soccer tournament.

Gruccio, of Vineland, was formerly an emcee for the Hall of Fame's annual induction ceremony, and in April, she was inducted into the Hall, joining 41 other local women who've been so honored since the Hall's founding 10 years ago.

Retired cop says department retaliated over medical issue

VINELAND -- A retired Vineland police officer claims in a federal lawsuit that department officials retaliated against him when he accused his superiors of violating his rights. Joseph Valentine, who joined the department in 1982, took a military leave of absence in 2012 to serve in the New Jersey Air National Guard, where he holds a rank of senior master sergeant.

Tractor-trailer crash shuts down Route 40 for hours, police say

WOODSTOWN -- Part of the main road through the borough was shut down for five hours early Thursday after a tractor-trailer jumped a curb and crashed, police said. Woodstown Public Safety Director Cris Simmermon said the accident was reported at 1:38 a.m. on U.S. Route 40, also known as West Avenue.

Cousins sentenced to prison for shooting death of Vineland man

MAY'S LANDING -- Two cousins were sentenced Friday to prison on conspiracy charges in the 2014 shooting death of a Vineland man, authorities said. Dominique Washington, 27 and Hykeem Martin, 25, of Buena Vista Township, were convicted on charges of conspiracy to commit murder in the killing of Vincent Williams, though a jury acquitted them of a more serious murder charge.

Vineland Police say that Oneismo Hernandez, 24, of Bridgeton was the person that was killed in the accident that happened around 1:19 a.m. Sunday morning. Police say that Hernandez was walking trying to cross South Delsea Drive near West Walnut Road when he was hit by a Chevy truck that was traveling northbound.

Pedestrian killed trying to cross Delsea Drive in Vineland

The victim tried to cross South Delsea when he was struck by a 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling northbound, according to police. The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was transported to Inspira Medical Center, Vineland, where he died of his injuries.

Man faces 20 years for armed robbery at Vineland bank

BRIDGETON -- A man faces 20 years in state prison for holding up a Vineland bank four years ago, authorities say. Leonard Johnson, 53, of Millville was found guilty in Superior Court this week of first-degree armed robbery, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.
