Ten miles northeast of Denver, Colorado, sits the town of Thornton. With 81 city parks, over 2,000 acres of open space, over eighty miles of trails, and substantial golf courses. Thornton man sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on drug conviction

Richard Thomas Slate was sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Alan B. Johnson to 10 years in prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, according to the U.S. attorney for Wyoming. Slate, who was arrested in Colorado, also was sentenced to five years of supervised release and ordered to pay $500 restitution.
