Former Shakopee Superintendent Arrested, Police Say

Shakopee police chief Jeff Tate announced Tuesday afternoon that Rod Thompson, who resigned in June amidst scrutiny from police over his use of his district credit card, was booked into Scott County Jail and is awaiting formal charges by the Scott County Attorney's Office. A release from Tate alleged a six-month investigation showed Thompson used his district-issued credit card to purchase a number of items for personal use including airfare and hotel stays, various electronic devices, tickets to the Grand Ole Opry, sports decor and memorabilia, alcohol flasks, jewelry and cowboy boots.
