Peabody man convicted of voluntary manslaughter for girlfriend's death

A Peabody man who admitted to stabbing his longtime girlfriend to death in front of her granddaughter nearly two years ago was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter by a Salem jury on Friday, according to the Essex District Attorney's office. Brandon Hoar, 61, was charged with first degree muder for the death of Cheryl Young, his girlfriend of 25 years, inside their Peabody in June 2015.
