Virginia Attorney General's Office contests innocence claim in 1975 rape

New DNA evidence does not prove, as claimed, that an Ohio man is innocent of a 1975 rape in Fairfax County, according to the Virginia Attorney General's Office. In a petition filed with the Virginia Supreme Court in September, Winston L. Scott, 61, asserts that DNA testing of semen found on the crotch of the jeans purportedly worn by the victim after the attack proves he did not rape and sodomize her after breaking into her Reston apartment.
