Guests who dined at the Red Lobster at 27760 Novi Road between Jan. 14 and Feb. 14 may have been exposed to the disease, according to the Oakland County Health Division. Suspect in workplace killing spree arraigned on murder charge

The Sterling Heights man suspected in a planned killing spree that left two dead in their workplaces last Thursday was arraigned Feb. 5 from his bed at an area hospital. Vernest James Griffin, 45, faces one count each of first-degree premeditated murder and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony in the death of Eriberto "Eddie" Perez, 58. Perez was gunned down at his desk shortly before noon Feb. 1 at Aluminum Blanking, Inc. in Pontiac.

The motive behind Thursday's multiple homicides in Taylor and Pontiac is still unknown, what is known though is the 45-year-old Sterling Hieghts man arrested during a gunfight with police in Waterford had a history of gun violence and multiple pending felony charges from an earlier assault. The Oakland County Sheriff's Office reported they have the man in custody who Downriver police say shot and killed a former coworker in Taylor, stole a semitruck and then shot another person in Pontiac. The Taylor shooting was reported at about 10:10 a.m. Thursday.
