In 2007, the city of Oak Lawn, Illinois began hanging additions to stop signs. This was the idea of the city President in an effort to encourage drivers to obey the stop signs. Many of the signs were poorly made and had several misspellings. Some of the signs read "WHOA WHOA WAIT A MINUTE." In 2008 the Federal Highway Administration forced Oak Lawn to remove the signs. Driver crashes into CTA bus on Far South Side

Charges were pending against a driver who crashed into a CTA bus in the Washington Heights area on the Far South Side late Monday, authorities said. The driver, a 24-year-old man, hit the bus from behind as it was turning left onto West 103rd Street from Halsted Street about 10:50 p.m., police said.

Man wounded during West Side robbery among 5 shot in Chicago

Five people were wounded in city shootings since Sunday afternoon, including a man who was shot during a robbery in the Little Village neighborhood on the West Side, Chicago police said. The 27-year-old man was in the 2200 block of South Trumbull Avenue about 3:30 p.m. when he was shot in the left thigh, police said in a media notification.

Elmhurst woman dies after Oakbrook Terrace crash
