Just about 30 miles southwest of Atlanta sits a small town known as Newnan, in Coweta County, Georgia. The city doubled in population between the year 2000, when there was just over 16,000 people, to the year 2008, when the census showed that there were 33,000 residents. The city was named after North Carolinian General Daniel Newnan. It was considered a hospital city during the Civil War.
