Milestones Behavioral Services celebrates 20 years

Milestones Behavioral Services, with three campuses in Milford and Orange, will hold its 20 Anniversary Gala to celebrate the students, staff and families who have been part of developing this not-for-profit into a nationally and internationally recognized resource. The May 12 evening will include jazz, live and silent auctions, dinner and dancing and will be held at the Omni Hotel, 155 Temple Street, New Haven, at 6:30 p.m. Milestones was the first school program in Connecticut based on Applied Behavior Analysis strategies and it has helped thousands with autism/developmental disorders and their families, school officials said.

Police are investigating after a woman was robbed at knife point while out running in New Haven on Sunday morning. Police say at around 7:30 a.m., officers responded to College Woods at the base of East Rock Park , after a dog walker heard a woman scream.

Trucker dies in crash near Marietta

Department of Public Safety troopers said a southbound 18-wheeler driven by Charles Hackley of New Haven, Connecticut, went off the highway toward the median around 6:15 a.m. The driver overcorrected and ran off pavement in the other direction, hitting a tree near the 12-mile marker three miles south of Marietta. "I've never seen anything like it," said 91-year-old Glovis Hall, who was an infantryman in World War II.

Average retail gasoline prices in Connecticut have risen 10.0 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.88/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 1,540 gas outlets in Connecticut.
