Alleged drunken driver now facing motor vehicle homicide charge

A 33-year-old Chelmsford man who was allegedly drunk when he struck a 52-year-old father of six at a work site on Interstate 93 in Medford last year was arraigned in Woburn Superior Court Monday on charges that include motor vehicle homicide. Thomas O'Day, of East Bridgewater, was working for a highway line-painting contractor, Hi-Way Safety Systems Inc., on June 28, 2016, when he was struck by a vehicle driven by James Scoville, of Chelmsford, according to prosecutors.
