Girl reports rape in Manassas area hotel room

On April 17, detectives with the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate an alleged sexual assault that occurred at a hotel located in the 7300 block of Old Centerville Rd in Manassas on April 15 sometime after 3:00AM. The investigation revealed that several juveniles were at the hotel attending a party in one of the rooms and consuming alcohol.

Virginia State Police J.H. Stubblefield is investigating a two-vehicle crash in Fairfax County. State police was called to the scene at 3:51 a.m., on Interstate 66 east of Exit 57. A 2012 Honda Civic was traveling west on Interstate 66 when it was rear-ended by a westbound 2015 Hyundai Elantra.

A Manassas, Virginia man pleaded guilty today to using the Internet to pay women to sexually abuse children as young as six years old in the Philippines while he produced numerous images of the abuse. Acting Assistant Attorney General John P. Cronan of the Justice Department's Criminal Division, Acting U.S. Attorney Tracy Doherty-McCormick for the Eastern District of Virginia and Special Agent in Charge Patrick J. Lechleitner of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations Washington, D.C., made the announcement.

Va. man pleads guilty to paying women overseas to sexually abuse children new

The Department of Justice for the Eastern District of Virginia said Dwayne Stinson, 52, of Manassas, watched and directed the abuse during video chats with the women. Prosecutors said he admitted some of the young victims in live video sessions were as young six years old.

Manassas, Va., man guilty of directing child pornography via internet

A Manassas, Virginia, man pleaded guilty Monday to paying women in the Philippines to sexually abuse children as young as 6 so he could produce child pornography, the Justice Department said. From October 2011 through February 2012, Dwayne Stinson, 53, used the internet to direct that abuse by telling the women what to do, according to court documents.

Balls Ford Road recycling center reopens after massive fire

Fire crews were called to large brush fire the Commonwealth Recycling and Aggregates plant in the 7800 block of Piney Branch Court off Balls Ford Road near Gainesville at 4:36 p.m. Friday, April 6. The fire quickly spread, jumping over Balls Ford Road to a Prince Willam County recycling center for yard waste. The fire ignited several mulch piles and heavy earth moving equipment at the recycling center.
