Athens police: Cellphone leads to man who took hotel guest's purse by cutting strap

A man who took a purse off an Athens hotel guest by cutting its strap Wednesday night was arrested in Madison after being tracked through a cellphone in the purse, Athens police said. Robert Leslie Worley, 31, of 16651 Alabama 251, Athens, was charged with one count of first-degree robbery, police said.

Huntsville Police Officer charged with DUI, placed on administrative leave

Investigators say the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency served a warrant on Mitchell this morning stemming from a "DUI incident" from Saturday. Alabama State Troopers confirmed that Mitchell and the driver of another vehicle were injured in a wreck that happened on Wall Triana Highway just north of the Madison city limits around 4 a.m. Huntsville Police have placed Officer Mitchell on administrative duties.
