This test marks the first time an SM-3 Block IIA was launched from an Aegis ship and the first intercept engagement using the Aegis Baseline 9.C2 weapon system.

Laurel man faces sex offense charges involving family member

A 35-year-old Laurel man was charged with second-degree rape and other sex offenses that involved a family member and a family friend. Warner Jenerio Jude Murphy was arrested at his home in the 14000 block of Yardarm Way on Jan. 30. City spokeswoman Audrey Barnes said he was released on $100,000 bond and will return to court on March 1. Laurel police said the 18-year-old victim reported that she had been repeatedly sexually assaulted by Murphy "almost daily" at home since November.

A 35-year-old man who coaches a local youth group has been arrested and charged with several sex offenses involving a relative in Prince George's County, according to authorities. Police in Laurel said Warner Jenerio Jude Murphy faces charges of second degree rape and other sex offenses after harming a relative.

Feb. 02--The addition of seven new buses could bring temporary relief to an aging regional transit system that serves Howard County, northern Prince George's County, Anne Arundel County and the city of Laurel as county officials draft a plan to overhaul the system.
