Shotgun blast at surveyor brings charge

Chad Rowe, 38, who lives on Dorsey Road north of Jacksonville, was arrested Tuesday afternoon by Pulaski deputies for allegedly firing a shotgun blast in the direction surveyor who stepped on his property. No one was hit, but Rowe was charged with felony aggravated assault.

Continuing work on U.S. 67/167 in Pulaski and Lonoke counties will require more overnight lane closings this week, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said. Crews working within the U.S. 67/167 median between Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville and Arkansas 5 in Cabot will require closing northbound and southbound lanes for parts of four days beginning today, weather permitting.
