Gilroy fire grows to 130 acres

A large vegetation fire that began in a gated golf club community Sunday evening has spread to 130 acres and has about dozens of firefighters from around the Bay Area trying to contain it. The blaze at the Eagle Ridge housing development in west Gilroy was called in at 7:10 p.m. and quickly spread; about 100 firefighters and upwards of 20 engines from around Santa Clara County were brought in, said Division Chief Mary Gutierrez of the Gilroy Fire Department.
