Pay hikes approved for Beacon Hill leaders

As the first order of business back in January, the Legislature approved an $18 million pay raise package including hiking the salaries of the two leaders who filed the bill, House Speaker Robert DeLeo, D-Winthrop, and Senate President Stan Rosenberg, D-Amherst, by $45,000 from $97,547 to $142,547. The Mashpee Substance Use Task Force is launching a drop-in center night in June to provide resources and support for individuals and families struggling with substance use disorders. Gail R. Wilson, director of the Mashpee Human Services Department and head of the task force, said in a call yesterday that the first drop-in center night will take place Tuesday, June 6, from 4 to 8 PM at the Community Health Center of Cape Cod on Commercial Street in Mashpee.
