Armenian flag to be raised at Fresno City Hall

A commemoration and flag-raising event to remember the Armenian genocide is planned at Fresno City Hall, 2600 Fresno St., from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, the  Fresno Bee  reports. The Armenian Genocide Commemorative Committee of Fresno announced several events in April to mark the genocide, in which about 1.5 million Armenians were killed by the Ottoman Empire between 1915 and 1923.

The 16-year-old boy who was shot by a Fresno police sergeant on April 15 was identified by the Fresno County Coroner's Office as Isiah Murrietta-Golding.
