The city of Elgin is located forty miles northwest of Chicago along the Fox River. In 1835 Hezekiah and brother James T. Gifford established the city and named it after the old Scottish hymn titled "The Song of Elgin." Elgin was known for their dairy industry, which sold butter and other dairy products to nearby Chicago. Bail set at $3 million for Elgin man facing child porn charges

Bail was set at $3 million Friday for an Elgin man accused of soliciting child pornography, Kane County prosecutors said. Devin J. Moberg, 33, of the 300 block of Richert Court, Elgin, was charged with seven class x felony counts and two class 1 felony counts of solicitation of child pornography, as well as a class 4 felony count of grooming and two misdemeanor counts of distributing harmful material to a minor.
