A crash between a compact car and a big rig on Interstate 580 early Tuesday caused the California Highway Patrol to issue a Sig Alert for severe traffic. Nobody was injured in the wreck, which happened just after 5:30 a.m. in the westbound direction of I-580 just west of San Ramon Road.
