DPD discusses grant for terrorism response equipment

The Douglasville City Council took up at Thursday's work session submitting a grant that would give the police department additional equipment to respond to terrorism events. The Douglasville Police Department is requesting to submit a 2017 GEMA State Homeland Security Program Grant application.

Keurig may open plant in Douglas after all

The Development Authority of Douglas County voted to approve a resolution Friday that would transfer assignment of an abatement agreement to the holders of a joint venture that may bring Keurig into Douglas County after all. Chris Pumphrey, executive director of the development authority, made the announcement to the board Friday that Anheuser-Busch InBev and Keurig Green Mountain, Inc. entered into a joint venture on Jan. 6 focused on the research and development of an in-home alcohol drink system.

Two killed, four injured in multi-vehicle crash in Douglasville

Two people were killed and four were injured after a multi-vehicle accident Wednesday night on Highway 92 north of downtown Douglasville. Godwin said there were five vehicles involved in the accident, which happened around 7:15 p.m. on Highway 92 at Brickleberry Way not far from the Paulding County line.

Grand Jury: Local man indicted for child molestation

District Attorney Brian Fortner announced the Feb. 3 indictments, which included a child molestation charge against 26-year-old Michael David Klapp. Klapp was indicted on one count of child molestation against a child under 16 years of age.
