Mayor may get option of car allowance

The city of Douglasville has filed a notice of intent concerning a proposed ordinance change scheduled to come before the Douglasville City Council May 15 to allow Mayor Rochelle Robinson to choose between driving a city-owned vehicle or being paid a vehicle allowance. "Essentially, we are changing the compensation ordinance to allow for the mayor of the city to have a choice between a city vehicle or a car allowance," said City Manager Marcia Hampton.
