Deadly Champaign County crash claims 1

Illinois State Police say one man is dead and another seriously injured following a single-vehicle crash in Champaign County Monday morning. ISP officials say the crash happened on IL-49, at Champaign County Road 200N, at about 8:48 a.m. According to the preliminary investigation into the crash, a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling northbound when left the right side of the road and struck a ditch, resulting in the vehicle becoming airborne and overturning multiple times.

Council to hear about redevelopment plans

April 17 - Tonight, the Decatur City Council will hear about a proposed plan to redevelop an area on the southwest side of downtown Decatur that has long been mostly vacant. The resolution before the Council will allow MDA Properties to invest their own money in to the redevelopment of the properties in the 100 block of West Main, South Church, and West Wood Streets.

Shots fired at Decatur home, police investigating

The Decatur Police Department is investigating a pair of "shots fired" reports that happened on the city's southwest side Saturday night. Decatur police tell WAND News the first incident happened in the 500 block of West Decatur at about 10:40 p.m. Officers responding to the scene spoke with the caller, who reported "hearing firecrackers," and soon after noticed a hole in her ceiling and front door.
