City, school leaders to hold special meeting on district budget

School board and City Council members will hold a special budget workshop Wednesday evening to discuss the district's proposed $7 million cost increases for next year. The uncommon joint meeting was proposed by school board members who want to plead their case for a $135 million budget - a 5.5 percent increase - amid their expectations the council will grant them only a fraction of the requested increase, if any.

Pick up Truck crashes into Danbury home

Saturday morning around 4 A.M. crews responded to a pick up truck that had struck a house near West Wooster St. and Garfield Ave. The crash injured the driver and the two occupants. All of those injured were transported to Western Connecticut Health Network with advanced life support ambulances.
