A jury has ruled that a Brisbane man is not guilty in the 1989 slaying of a young woman on San Bruno Mountain, a decision that closes the decades-old case, according to the district attorney's office. Gabriel Ray O'Neill was found not guilty Monday on all charges in the killing of 27-year-old Sheila Lorraine Hatcher, who lived in Daly City and was a mother of three at the time of her death, according to San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.

CA: BART Train Derails in Daly City, Causing Major Delays

May 21--A BART train derailed in Daly City, forcing the evacuation of 24 passengers and causing major delays throughout the transit system Saturday afternoon, officials said. The wheels on the two middle cars of a nine-car train came off the tracks at 2:55 p.m. immediately after it had left Daly City on its way to Balboa Park Station, said BART spokesman Taylor Huckaby.

The All Powerful Bike Lobby has pushed back, and maybe Caltrans will rescind this decision? Skyline Boulevard is the primary bikeway connecting the Pacific Coast side of San Francisco with the Peninsula. Passing through Daly City, cyclists must traverse a highway style interchange with Highway 1, but people who routinely travel here say they go this way because it's better than other nearby routes for several reasons, including personal comfort and safety.
