Broomfield is a major suburb of both Denver and Boulder. In 1885 Adolph Zang bought land for a railroad depot, which was thus named Zang's Spur. It was a spur off the main railroad line where locally grown grains were loaded into the railroad cars for delivery to the Zang Brewing Company.
