About: brentwood, california

Brentwood is located in central California's East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area. The land where Brentwood now sits was first owned by John Marsh and was named after his hometown of Brentwood of Essex, England. The city began in the late nineteenth century as a small farming community and is still known for its agricultural products, mainly cherries, corn and peaches. Today most of the farms and orchards have been replaced by suburban developments, and since the 1990s Brentwood has grown more and more residential.
