According to a report released by the Illinois Department of Employment Security , the Twin Cities have a record 4.1 percent unemployment, .4 percent below the national average of 4.5. IDES Public Information Officer Bob Gough said this is not a huge surprise to him, as the Twin Cities have had the lowest unemployment rate for the last couple of years consecutively.
