Aurora man charged in armed robbery

Juan Morales, of the 600 block of Alyce Lane, is accused of entering the gas station in the 600 block of N. Broadway at about 9 a.m. and demanding money at gunpoint from a 32-year-old female clerk, authorities said in a news release on their Facebook page. The clerk handed over about $500 in cash, and Morales ran to his vehicle parked in a neighboring parking lot and left the area, authorities said.

Aurora man who killed girlfriend now charged with attempted murder

An Aurora man who did time in prison for killing his girlfriend in 1997 has now been charged with attempted murder in connection with a Christmas weekend shooting in the city. Ernesto Sanchez, 37, of the 800 block of Fifth Avenue, is also charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
