Case wraps up against Bay Point man charged in 2015 killing

The case has ended against a Bay Point man who accepted a 14-year prison sentence for a homicide that prosecutors say was motivated by robbery. Nissan Moran, 22, pleaded no contest to manslaughter and gun possession charges in the death of 24-year-old Emilio Martinez, an Antioch resident.

15-Year-Old in Stolen Car Arrested After Fatal Crash

The California Highway Patrol arrested an unlicensed 15-year-old driver yesterday on suspicion of felony vehicular manslaughter after he allegedly rammed a stolen vehicle into another car, killing the driver of that car and injuring a passenger. An 18-year-old Pittsburg man who was with the youth in the stolen car was arrested and booked into County Jail in Martinez on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle, CHP Officer Cliff Kroeger said.

2 Arrested After Good Samaritans Stop Laptop Theft At Starbucks

Two young men were arrested on suspicion of attempting to steal a laptop at a Starbucks in Antioch on Monday afternoon, according to police. Police said a 19-year-old Brentwood resident and 21-year-old Bay Point resident -- whose names weren't given -- were taken into custody separately after one was held for police to arrive at the Starbucks location and the other captured by police a short time later.
