Antioch Council to pursue zoning for seniors only mobile home park

At the June 13 meeting of the Antioch City Council, councilmembers vowed to have city staff take immediate steps to provide relief for residents of the Vista Diablo Mobile Estates following complaints that the seniors living in that community were being taken advantage of by the mobile home park owner. Listed as a regular agenda item at the evening meeting was the receipt of a report and the opportunity to provide direction to staff regarding creation of a Senior Mobile Home Housing Zoning District.

Robbery: At 5:54 p.m., police were called to the Burger King in the 2400 block of Mahogany Way on a report of a hold-up from the drive-through. Assault: At 8:21 p.m., police responded to the Jack In The Box in the 4800 block of Lone Tree Way after a caller reported that a man was hitting a woman inside and was now running on Indian Hill Drive.

Authorities identify man shot dead by Antioch police

Nathan Banks, 37, of Antioch, died after the shooting in the 2300 block of Manzanita Way around 11:30 p.m. People commenting on social media already had identified him, and a woman claiming to be his fiancee told a news station Banks was shot four times. The investigation by Antioch police and the Contra Costa District Attorney's Office is in its early stages and police said no further information will be released at this time.
