Addison is located in northeastern Illinois, just west of Chicago. The Salt Creek of the Des Plaines River Tributary runs through the town of Addison. The town was named in honor of 18th century writer Joseph Addison, who is best known as a co-founder of The Spectator magazine. During the 1960s and 1970s Addison was home to the Adventureland amusement park. From 1967 to 1976 it was the largest amusement park in all of Illinois. 6 victims of Wisconsin plane crash identified

Authorities have released the names of the six people who were killed when their Cessna airplane crashed in northern Wisconsin. The Price County Sheriff's Office on Monday identified the victims as 70-year-old Kevin James King , 56-year-old Thomas DeMauro , 21-year-old Kyle DeMauro , 63-year-old James Francis , 69-year-old Charles Tomlitz, and 45-year-old George Tomlitz .

According to police, Kevin King, 70, of Bensenville IL, James Francis, 63, of Norco CA, Kyle Demauro, 21, of Bensenville, IL, Charles Tomlitz, 69, of Addison IL and George Tomlitz, 45, of Brookfield IL all died in a plane crash early Saturday morning.

California carjacking suspect arrested in Addison

Officials from the Fremont Police Department in California told Addison police Friday that Donis Rivas, 30, possibly was in the area and wanted for a carjacking, according to a post on the Addison Police Department Facebook page. Officers found Rivas on the 200 block of West Lake Street.
